Why Would I Want An Apache Http Server To Connect To Another One?

I noticed the feature in Apache HTTP server for Windows but I need to know how the feature will be useful.

    If you have a very high traffic website you can set up apache to use a load balancing software to even out the load across multiple servers
    that’s just a guess however

    * Back-up
