Found out about this application from a FLOSS weekly podcast. It serves up a simple web-based interface to you that permits you to manage configuration files on Linux without having to know where the config files live. It has been around for a decade, so it is pretty well established, I suppose.. Though this is the first time I’ve heard about it. Listen to the FLOSS program to learn a bit about it…

say for a web server deployment with basic php/mysql support which Linux flavor is best and easy?
btw i am accustomed to windows operating system and don’t have much experience with Linux so suggest the one which have atleast GUI to operate.

Please let me know whether is it possible to connect a MYSQL db which is located in Windows Server 2003 Microsoft-IIS/6.0 from a Linux Apache/1.3.37 (Unix) server.
FYI, the mysql db connection file is in LINUX Apache server and the mysql database is in windows 2003 server.
i have just replaced the necessary variables and tried to connect but it showed the below error.

I am trying to get a minimal installation of Apache web server. The reason for this is because, I plan on install it on a dedicated server and the only purpose is to serve basic image files. I need it to be as optimized as possible since it will be handling a few hundred of requests per second on average.
